New Residential Garbage Contract with GFL Environmental
The Village of Morton and GFL Environmental have finalized a new seven (7) year agreement to provide solid waste and recycling services to all single-family dwellings and duplexes within the Village of Morton.
WHAT’S DIFFERENT WITH THIS NEW CONTRACT?
Beginning January 1, 2025, the Village of Morton will begin billing all single-family dwellings and duplexes for basic monthly solid waste and recycling service provided by GFL. This monthly fee will be included on your monthly Morton Utility Bill. Please review the flier below for more information on the billing changes and the services to be provided by GFL. A copy of the flier will also be included in your December Morton Utility Bill.

ONE TIME OPT-OUT BY MARCH 31, 2025
The Village of Morton’s agreement with GFL makes them the sole and exclusive provider of garbage and recycling services to all single-family dwellings and duplexes within the Village of Morton. If you wish to opt out of GFL’s services, you must sign the Garbage and Recycling Service Opt-Out Form included below and return it to Village Hall by March 31, 2025. This will be the only opt-out period throughout the seven (7) year agreement. Those that opt-out will have an opportunity to opt-in by completing an opt-in form and returning it to the Village of Morton along with payment of a required administrative fee of $250.00 for reinstatement of service.
